Mark A. Wasser

Mark has been a partner at Davidson Fox since 2006 and has served as Co-managing Partner since 2017. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the New York Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA).  Mark’s practice encompasses a diverse range of industries, including contractors, medical and dental practices, retailers, and manufacturers. He specializes in providing accounting, tax, and consulting services for closely held businesses, leveraging his extensive expertise to deliver tailored solutions that drive growth and efficiency.  An active community member, Mark volunteers his time as a Board Member and advisor to several local not-for-profit organizations, including The Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce, Visions Federal Credit Union, and Endicott Sertoma. He has also served as the Treasurer of the Broome Community College Foundation and was a past Chairman of the Binghamton University Foundation Community Campaign.  Mark is a 2004 graduate of the Broome Leadership Institute. His responsibilities at Davidson Fox include overseeing day-to-day operations, strategic planning, marketing, facilities management, and client relations.  In his spare time, Mark enjoys golfing, cooking, and working out, balancing his professional commitments with a healthy and active lifestyle.


Jesse J. Wheeler

Jesse earned his BS in Accounting from Binghamton University and specializes in accounting and taxation for small-to-medium-sized businesses, with a focus on forensic accounting. His practice extends to non-profit organizations, healthcare providers, manufacturing, estates/trusts, and employee benefit plans. A dedicated professional, Jesse is affiliated with several esteemed organizations including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA), the Pennsylvania Institute of Public Accountants, and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.  In addition to his client work, Jesse provides quality control (peer review) services for accounting firms across New York and Pennsylvania and serves on the NYS Peer Review Oversight Committee. Committed to his community, he volunteers with local non-profit organizations such as LUMA Arts Initiative, Binghamton Auxiliary Services Corporation, New Vine Records, and Broome County Arena/Forum. Jesse is also a graduate of the 2008 Broome Leadership Institute.

 


Tera Stanton

Tera joined Davidson Fox in 2006 and became a partner in 2015. With a robust background in accounting, she earned her bachelor's degree in accounting from SUNY Oneonta and graduated with honors with an associate's degree in business adminstration from SUNY Broome.  Tera is a Quickbooks Pro Advisor and an active member of both the New York State Society of CPAs and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.  She served as President of the NYSSCPA's Southern Tier Chapter and completed the Broome Leadership Institute in 2013.  Her professional focus includes business and individual taxation, planning, and attestation services, with extensive expertise in auditing and accounting for non-public and non-profit organizations.  Beyond her career, Tera dedicates her time as a board member for Mothers and Babies Perinatal Network and The Goodwill Theatre.


James C. Daniels

CPA, Of Counsel

Jim has had a rich and varied career in accounting, spanning several decades.  He earned his Bachelors of Science in Accounting degree from Binghamton University in 1976. His audit, accounting and tax practice included manufacturing, wholesalers, retailers, health care providers, professional service corporations, engineering and agricultural businesses. He performed practice monitoring (peer review services) for other accounting firms throughout New York State. Jim’s focus in the latter part of his career has been on individual and business tax issues. He is a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. Jim served on boards and committees of Chenango County Habitat for Humanity, Binghamton Rotary, The Chenango River Theatre, United Health Services Foundation, Stillwater RTF, The Community Foundation of South Central New York, and Hillside Family of Agencies. In addition, he volunteers his accounting, and financial knowledge and expertise to a number of organization located in his home town community. He is a graduate of the 1996 Broome Leadership Institute and past chair of the Binghamton University Foundation Community Campaign and the Community Foundation of South Central New York. Jim was a partner with Davidson Fox & Company, LLP from 1985 through 2016, and serviced as the Firm’s Managing Partner from 2005 through 2016.  Overall, Jim's career highlights his deep commitment to the field of accounting, extensive community involvement, and leadership roles within various organizations.


Catherine A. Maliwacki

CPA, Of Counsel

Cathy graduated from Binghamton University with both a BS and MS in Accounting.  She is a licensed member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, specializing in accounting and tax services for a diverse clientele including medical and dental practices, retailers, wholesalers, non-profits, and closely held businesses.  Cathy's expertise spans auditing and accounting for closely held businesses and non-profits, employee stock ownership plans, tax planning and consulting, and the implementation of accounting software systems.  Outside of her professional commitments, Cathy actively volunteers with several local not-for-profit organizations, including Cornell Cooperative Extension of Broome County, Mercy House of the Southern Tier, and Binghamton Sertoma.  She also contributes as a member of the Binghamton University Forum.  


David Stella

CPA, Of Counsel

Dave earned a BS degree in Business Economics and Accounting from The State University of New York at Oneonta in 1980. He has been practicing public accounting for forty-three years providing accounting and tax services to various types of businesses, non-profit organizations, estate, trusts, and individuals. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of CPA’s. Throughout his career Dave has served as Treasurer and as a board member for several non-profit organizations. Currently he is an adjunct professor teaching Auditing and Intermediate Accounting at Binghamton University.


Robert Davis

Director

Bob, a graduate of the University of Scranton, joined Davidson Fox in 2006 following significant tenure in both private and public accounting.  With over 40 years of experience in tax and accounting, Bob specializes in healthcare practices, general and specialized contractors, manufacturers, retailers, wholesalers, and tax planning for both individuals and businesses.  He serves as the Firm's Tax Manager and is an active member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.


Jamie Atkinson, CPA

Director

Jamie Atkinson has built an impressive career in accounting since earning her Bachelor's degree from Keystone College and becoming a CPA in 2012.  Her long tenure with the firm since November 2005 indicates a deep understanding of the industry and a strong commitment to her work.  Jamie's involvement in the Broome Leadership Institute Program and her current role as a Board Member and Treasurer for a local nonprofit demonstrates her leadership abilities and her dedication to giving back to her community.  Additionally, serving in each leadership role for the NYSSCPA - Southern Tier Chapter, as well as a board member and committee member of PLLI for the NYSSCPA showcases her active engagement in her profession beyond her immediate workplace.  Outside of her professional life, Jamie enjoys spending time with her family, particularly traveling to her kids' sporting events, playing softball, and golfing.  Her involvement in sports suggests a well-rounded individual who values both family time and staying active.  Living in Hallstead, PA, with her family and dog, Jackson, highlights her commitment to her roots and her community.  Jamie balances her professional achievements with a fulfilling personal life, making her an admired and respected team leader.

 


Jody Calvasina, CPA

Director

Jody has established herself as a director at Davidson Fox since joining in March 2000.  Her expertise in financial, tax, payroll, and sales tax services, particularly for small business clients, showcases her proficiency in a variety of accounting areas.  Her specialization in working with foundations and nonprofit tax returns highlights her commitment to serving the community beyond her professional duties.  As Treasurer of the Baden Powell Council of Scouts and a past President of the Johnson City Business and Professional Women, Jody actively contributes to community organizations, demonstrating her leadership and dedication to making a difference outside of her career.  In her personal life, Jody finds joy in spending time with her husband, grandson, and loved ones, enjoying activities like camping and short trips.  Her commitment to both her professional endeavors and her family and community involvement portrays her as a well-rounded individual with a strong sense of balance.


Kelly Grace

Kelly is an accomplished professional with a diverse set of skills and a strong commitment to both her career and her community.  Kelly's background in communication, marketing, and advertising, combined with her role as the Firm Liaison and Certified Payroll Specialist at Davidson Fox allows her to manage various responsibilities within the company, from handling sponsorships and events to payroll administration.  Kelly is a graduate of the 2023 BLI class and demonstrates her commitment to personal and professional growth, while her participation on the boards of Binghamton Rotary and Kopernik Observatory, along with her role as a Chamber Ambassador, highlights her dedication to community service and engagement.  Kelly's involvement with her company and community creates a strong foundation of skills that further her professional and civic responsibilities.
